1Kosmos is partnering with Auth0 in an effort to reach new customers in 2021. To that end, the company has revealed that its flagship BlockID solution has now been listed on the Auth0 Marketplace, which provides existing Auth0 customers with a curated roster of technology solutions that can be easily integrated into Auth0’s own identity management platform.
The solutions available through the Marketplace have all been evaluated to make sure they live up to Auth0’s strict security and performance requirements. In that regard, BlockID meets modern Know Your Customer expectations, is compliant with the latest GDPR and W3C regulations, and clears the NIST’s level three 800-63-3 guidelines for identity and authentication insurance.
Social media logins, on the other hand, only offer level 1 security according to those same NIST guidelines. With that in mind, 1Kosmos argues that its solution is a much better security option than social media for companies with customer-facing applications, noting that people can make multiple social media accounts. As a result, companies relying on social media logins have no way to link an account to a genuine real world identity.
BlockID, meanwhile, uses biometric technology for authentication, and cross-references a new user’s personal information with official government documents and other sources to make sure that information is legitimate. The solution offers passwordless physical and logical access control, and leverages blockchain and liveness detection for additional security.
“We are extremely excited to partner with Auth0 and offer our BlockID platform to their customers,” said 1Kosmos Business Development Director Michael Granat. “Being a standards-based, biometric, and Blockchain-enabled platform will ensure the security of our users and protect them from the risks of phishing attacks and lost or borrowed credentials.”
Auth0 added the face-based onboarding solution from Vouched to the Auth0 Marketplace back in September. BlockID also achieved FIDO2 certification in October.
