MorganFranklin Consulting will be making BlockID a key component of its cybersecurity consulting strategy for its customers. The firm speaks with clients to come up with custom security arrangements that meet those clients’ unique cybersecurity needs, and noted that identity and access management (IAM) has been an increasingly important priority for organizations of all sizes.
BlockID will help MorganFranklin meet that demand with secure passwordless authentication. The solution is developed by 1Kosmos, and utilizes biometrics to verify the identity of each individual user. It also cross-references someone’s personal information with information on government documents and other sources to make sure that that information is legitimate.
Once someone’s identity has been verified, BlockID employs liveness detection technology to ensure that the right person is present for subsequent authentication attempts. The blockchain-based solution meets the NIST’s Level 3 identity and authentication insurance standards, and will allow MorganFranklin customers to comply with the latest international data protection and Know Your Customer regulations.
“1Kosmos’ solutions in identity authentication offer a unique and progressive approach to true digital access management,” said MorganFranklin IAM Managing Director Jason Berland. “We are looking forward to delivering this layer of protection to further enhance an organization’s digital transformation.”
“We are excited to be working with MorganFranklin to help the workforce and consumers move away from user-names and passwords and all of the inherent risk and cost they create,” added 1Kosmos Channel Development Director Steven Schoenhaus.
The two companies indicated that they will work closely with one another to provide end users with sound security solutions under the terms of their new partnership. The news is the latest in a string of successes for 1Kosmos. BlockID received FIDO2 certification in October, and would later get listed on the Auth0 Marketplace in the first few days of 2021.
