Swedish fintech company Zimpler has announced the launch of Zimpler ID+, a new identity verification layer designed to simplify compliance processes and improve user conversion rates in digital payment environments. The solution is particularly aimed at industries with stringent regulatory requirements, such as iGaming and financial services.
The release reflects growing momentum behind biometric and digital identity solutions in the financial sector, as firms work to balance strict security mandates with seamless user experiences. Zimpler ID+ introduces a unified identity layer that handles verification from a user’s initial sign-up through all subsequent interactions. The system performs biometric identification and regulatory checks at first contact, removing the need for traditional deposit-based or post-registration verification procedures that can slow down onboarding processes.
The platform allows returning users to authenticate using biometric data combined with cookie-based tracking, while also supporting passkey alternatives for situations where cookies are unavailable. This flexible approach aligns with broader industry trends, including initiatives like SmartSearch’s recent partnership with Daon to enhance biometric verification capabilities in identity services.
“Zimpler ID+ gives our partners a direct path to compliance and conversion – cutting onboarding time, reducing drop-offs, and removing the need to build identity infrastructure in-house,” said Tobias Gunnesson, Chief Product Officer at Zimpler. “While most verification flows still rely solely on deposit-based triggers or cookie tracking, we’re the first to enable verification at the point of entry – meeting compliance head-on and delivering a better user experience from the start.”
The compliance features built into Zimpler ID+ are designed to help businesses navigate evolving regulatory frameworks, particularly as jurisdictions like the UK introduce new standards for identity services, such as the Gamma 0.4 Digital Identity Framework released in June 2025.
