Yoti and Luciditi Partner to Create 7 Million User Digital ID Network for UK Age Verification

Digital identity providers Yoti and Luciditi have formed a partnership to create one of the UK’s largest interoperable digital ID networks for age and identity verification. The collaboration connects the user bases of Yoti, Luciditi, the Post Office EasyID, and Lloyds Bank’s Smart ID, forming a combined network of approximately 7 million users.

The pact enables mutual recognition of credentials between the four providers. This means a business using Luciditi’s verification system can now seamlessly accept a digital ID from a customer using the Yoti, EasyID, or Smart ID apps, and vice-versa. This interoperability is underpinned by the fact that all four wallet providers are certified under the UK’s Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework (DIATF), which establishes the technical and security rules for the ecosystem.

This move builds on the momentum of digital age verification in the UK. Earlier this year, all four digital wallets became the first to receive digital certification from the Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS), making them officially recognized alternatives to physical ID cards for purchasing age-restricted goods. The new network allows these certified digital IDs to be used more widely, both in-person and online.

For businesses, the partnership expands the pool of customers who can use a trusted digital ID, potentially reducing fraud and the need for manual checks. For consumers, it offers the convenience of using a single, reusable digital ID across a growing number of services. The collaboration signals a strategic shift in the UK’s identity market, with major providers choosing to build a unified ecosystem rather than competing in separate, walled gardens.
