Xcelerate Solutions and its subcontractor Socure will supply the next generation of remote identity proofing for Login.gov, the US government’s shared sign-in service, under a five-year call order worth $163 million.
The award, made on May 1 under the 2024 Login.gov Next Generation Identity Proofing Blanket Purchase Agreement, covers the agreement’s third functional area. A blanket purchase agreement pre-qualifies vendors for a stream of work, with individual call orders funding specific tasks. Login.gov serves as what the government calls one account for government, a single credential the public can use to reach services across federal agencies, and the new order is meant to modernise how that account verifies who is behind it, using what the companies call a streamlined, privacy-first approach to identity verification.
Socure’s part of the work runs inside its FedRAMP Moderate-authorised environment and delivers what the companies describe as a continuous view of identity: real-time identity resolution, attribute validation, fraud detection, behavioural analytics, and digital intelligence, configurable as threats evolve. The deal deepens a relationship that began when Socure joined Login.gov’s identity verification upgrade effort alongside Xcelerate under the blanket purchase agreement, and it extends a wider pattern of identity vendors clearing federal security bars, as 1Kosmos did in earning FedRAMP High authorization.
Jordan Burris, head of public sector at Socure, framed the stakes around what he called Fraud 4.0. “Organized networks and nation-state actors are deploying advanced techniques to exploit identity infrastructure at a speed that legacy systems cannot match, and an adaptive data-driven approach is the only credible way to stay ahead,” he said, adding that the goal was to do so without creating new barriers for the Americans who depend on government services.
Jim Dufford, a vice president at Xcelerate, said the partnership brings together proven expertise and advanced technology to make accessing government services safer and easier for millions of people. Xcelerate, based in McLean, Virginia, works across the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense, and the intelligence community in personnel vetting and security; Socure says it serves more than 3,000 customers, including 145 public sector organisations.
