Tools for Humanity is beginning the rollout of World Money, a self-custody finance app that connects digital asset payments with World ID’s biometric proof-of-human credential. The app is launching in more than 150 countries, with features and eligibility varying by location.
Users can send available digital assets to another person’s World username. The app also includes portfolio tracking, detailed transaction history and price alerts alongside its payment functions.
World Money supports balances in eight currencies and transfers of digital assets across borders. Its offerings include dollar-denominated and other stablecoins, which are cryptoassets designed to track the value of a reference currency. The company says cross-border digital asset transfers through the app are free.
World ID users who verify their uniqueness through an Orb, the system’s biometric capture device, can qualify for a limited-time promotional boost on eligible Earn products. That benefit connects proof of a unique human to a financial product; Orb verification is not a requirement for every feature in World Money.
The app’s Earn offerings use Morpho, a decentralized lending protocol, for eligible stablecoins and WLD, the World network’s token. Returns are variable and involve investment risk. Tools for Humanity is not a bank, and the cryptoassets held through the app are not insured bank deposits.
Funding options include virtual accounts provided through Bridge where available, allowing users to receive funds such as paychecks. Stripe will provide the default funding experience beginning in the United States, including the ability to fund stablecoin balances through Apple Pay.
World Money also incorporates Mini Apps from financial partners, including Kalshi, Credit and Morpho. Existing users of World App or the World ID app can carry their credentials and verification into the new experience rather than establishing their proof-of-human status again.
The rollout follows World ID 4.0’s introduction of account-based credentials, with support for key rotation, recovery and use across devices. World ID establishes that a participant is a unique human, rather than serving as a general legal identity document.
World has also extended its credential into AI-agent workflows involving Okta and Vercel, linking automated activity with human authorization. In World Money, the credential is used to make the promotional Earn benefit available to eligible, Orb-verified users.
