World and Mythical Games have announced a global partnership to integrate proof-of-human technology into online gaming, aiming to ensure fairer play and more secure in-game economies as artificial intelligence increasingly reshapes player experiences.
The collaboration will see Mythical Games, developer of titles such as NFL Rivals, FIFA Rivals, and Pudgy Party, adopt World ID verification across its platform. The system is designed to verify that players are real people rather than automated bots, helping to maintain the integrity of leaderboards, tournaments, and asset ownership within games.
As part of the partnership, Mythical will also launch Mythos Chain, a new Layer 3 blockchain built on World Chain’s Layer 2 infrastructure. This will make Mythos Chain the first Layer 3 network within the World ecosystem, combining Ethereum’s security and finality with the lower transaction costs and faster throughput of a Layer 2 chain. Blockspace on World Chain is prioritized for verified humans to prevent bots from inflating gas fees or crowding out players.
“Mythical is teaming up with World to bring proof of human and trust into the next era of gaming,” said John Linden, CEO of Mythical Games. “Our goal is to make every player (whether in FIFA Rivals, Pudgy Party, or NFL Rivals) part of a verified global economy where digital ownership and fair play are guaranteed.”
Ajay Patel, Head of World ID at Tools for Humanity, said the partnership reflects the growing need for human verification as artificial intelligence systems proliferate in gaming. “Proof of human restores trust to that equation,” Patel said. “By integrating it into Mythical’s ecosystem, we’re giving millions of gamers the ability to prove they’re real and ensuring that ownership, creativity, and competition all remain human.”
World Chain, secured by Ethereum, enables developers to create decentralized applications that emphasize real-human participation. With Mythical’s player base and established digital asset marketplaces, the integration of World ID extends those principles into one of the largest gaming ecosystems on blockchain. The companies said the move will allow secure, verified accounts to move seamlessly across titles and marketplaces while preserving individual ownership of digital assets.
By implementing proof-of-human verification at scale, World and Mythical aim to address a longstanding problem in gaming: bot activity that distorts economies and gameplay. The companies describe the initiative as a step toward building more transparent and human-centered digital environments where value and competition are tied to verified players rather than automated scripts.
The partnership announcement follows a rise in AI-driven automation across multiplayer games, which industry researchers say has amplified challenges around fraud, matchmaking fairness, and resource inflation. World and Mythical said their joint infrastructure provides a scalable solution built directly into blockchain architecture, eliminating the need for external bot-detection systems.
World, formerly known as Worldcoin, has been expanding its proof-of-humanity platform globally, though it has faced regulatory scrutiny in multiple jurisdictions over privacy concerns related to its biometric data collection practices. The startup has emphasized its rigorous data privacy safeguards.
