WISeKey has confirmed that the QAIT token will serve as the utility token for its SEALCOIN platform following the token’s market launch. The company says SEALCOIN is designed to support trusted machine-to-machine transactions using digital identities, decentralized trust technologies, and secure transaction protocols.
QAIT is issued and governed by the independent Switzerland-based QAIT Association, while SEALCOIN is the technology platform that uses the token for transaction-related functions. WISeKey said QAIT became available for trading on major cryptocurrency exchanges including Binance, KuCoin, Gate.io, and MEXC.
SEALCOIN is aimed at connected devices that need to identify, authenticate, and transact with one another without direct human intervention. WISeKey points to potential applications in smart cities, industrial IoT, connected vehicles, robotics, healthcare devices, energy infrastructure, logistics, and satellite communications.
The company describes the platform as part of a broader Physical Internet model in which connected devices exchange value, services, and data autonomously. Possible examples include autonomous vehicles paying charging stations, industrial equipment procuring services, medical devices exchanging authorized data, and logistics networks coordinating resources.
The platform fits WISeKey’s broader focus on digital identity for people and connected objects. The company says its group technologies include secure authentication, identification for IoT and AI applications, post-quantum cybersecurity, semiconductors, and satellite connectivity. Its cryptographic Root of Trust is used to support integrity for online transactions between objects and people.
The development follows related WISeKey and SEALSQ work around embedded security for connected devices. SEALSQ recently outlined a post-quantum cryptography roadmap for physical AI devices, while WISeKey has also been expanding digital ID activity across Africa.
WISeKey’s materials also tie the platform to post-quantum cybersecurity and decentralized infrastructure, though the current development is the token integration rather than a new hardware launch. The company is using SEALCOIN as the transaction layer for its broader identity and trust model for connected devices.
