Canadian voice biometrics provider VoiceTrust has struck a partnership with biometrics developer BioID AG that will see the latter’s technology complement the former’s in the VoiceTrust authentication platform. The result will be a cloud-connected, multi-modal biometric authentication service that will employ voice, facial, and periocular recognition technology.
It’s a win-win for both companies. Speaking on the development in a press release, VoiceTrust CEO Alan Brousseau said that the partnership is “creating a complete set of secure, biometric authentication solutions across mobile, telephony and online communication channels for the enterprise, banking, insurance and telecommunication sectors.”
BioID CEO Ho B. Chang added the alliance helps his company “to provide cutting-edge biometric solutions to the rapidly-growing global authentication market.”
The partnership reflects what seems to be a growing trend of consolidation in the biometrics market, as various firms specializing in different aspects of biometrics team together to offer more comprehensive solutions, and as companies operating outside of the biometrics field seek to incorporate that kind of technology into their products and services.
