Veridos GmbH, a global provider of integrated identity solutions, has announced a major leadership transition: Bernd Kümmerle will take over as CEO on July 1, 2025, succeeding Marc-Julian Siewert, who has led the company since early 2022. The move marks a new chapter for the joint venture between Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) and the Bundesdruckerei Group, which was founded in 2015 to deliver secure identification systems to governments worldwide.
Under Siewert’s leadership, Veridos achieved over 50 percent revenue growth and significantly expanded its global footprint. The company now supports identity solutions projects in more than 100 countries, with a focus on digital transformation, interoperability, and national-level deployments. Siewert championed customer-oriented innovation and oversaw key milestones such as the development of all-in-one digital and physical ID verification platforms and the acquisition of Serbian identity specialist NetSeT, enhancing Veridos’ technical and regional capabilities.
Siewert will transition to a new leadership role within the G+D Group, joining the management board of secunet and ultimately becoming its CEO. His successor, Bernd Kümmerle, brings nearly 30 years of experience within G+D, most recently as Managing Director of the Currency Technology segment. He has played a central role in modernizing banknote processing systems and leading international government business units—experience directly relevant to Veridos’ mission of securing global ID infrastructures.
Veridos has consistently demonstrated its technological leadership with high-impact projects, such as Iraq’s issuance of 40 million electronic ID cards and Cyprus’ overhaul of its biometric passport and ID infrastructure. These large-scale national programs reflect the company’s growing influence in the identity technology sector.
Looking ahead, industry watchers expect Kümmerle to continue building on this momentum by expanding Veridos’ global reach, investing in mobile and digital ID technologies, and exploring new opportunities in public-private identity ecosystems.
