Unixecure, a cybersecurity subsidiary of Systex Corporation, has secured exclusive distribution rights in Taiwan for AuthenTrend’s fingerprint authentication products. Announced on June 17, 2025, the agreement positions Unixecure to expand the availability of passwordless biometric security solutions across the country, with a focus on sectors that handle sensitive data and are frequently targeted by cyber threats.
Strengthening Biometric Security in Critical Sectors
Under the agreement, Unixecure will deliver AuthenTrend’s FIDO-certified fingerprint authentication devices to clients in high-risk industries including finance, healthcare, and government. These sectors face mounting cybersecurity risks, particularly around identity access management. By replacing passwords with fingerprint-based verification, the technology aims to reduce phishing risk and credential compromise.
AuthenTrend, a Taiwan-based company founded in 2016, specializes in fingerprint sensors and authentication modules built for compliance with FIDO (Fast IDentity Online) standards. Its products include biometric security keys and embedded fingerprint solutions, which are designed to integrate with enterprise and consumer systems. The company’s solutions are noted for their ease of use and compatibility with popular passwordless login platforms.
Rising Demand for Passwordless Solutions
The Unixecure-AuthenTrend partnership comes amid growing momentum for passwordless authentication in global cybersecurity. Key industry developments include OneSpan’s acquisition of Nok Nok Labs, a pioneer in FIDO protocols, and the FIDO Alliance’s formation of a Payment Authentication Working Group aimed at advancing secure, frictionless transactions. These moves reflect a broader industry shift toward biometrics and cryptographic keys as the future of identity verification.
Unixecure emphasized the strategic value of the agreement in its announcement. The firm plans to prioritize deployment in environments where high-assurance identity authentication is mission-critical. The distribution rights also allow Unixecure to lead sales, support, and localized implementation for AuthenTrend’s portfolio within Taiwan.
The deal responds to increasing concerns over credential-based attacks, which remain one of the most common vectors for enterprise data breaches. By introducing more secure alternatives to traditional password systems, Unixecure and AuthenTrend aim to help Taiwanese organizations improve their resilience against modern cyber threats.
