TruMerit, formerly CGFNS International, and Credivera have issued the first verifiable digital credentials to healthcare professionals through their partnership. The credentials were awarded to nurses and other healthcare workers who passed TruMerit’s global certification examinations over the last year.
The initial credential group includes the Certified Global Nurse credential and rehabilitation-focused credentials for nurses and other healthcare workers. Through Credivera’s credential exchange platform, TruMerit credentials are issued in encrypted, tamper-resistant digital formats aligned with globally recognized verification standards. Healthcare professionals can store, manage, and share the credentials digitally, allowing employers, regulators, and licensing authorities to verify qualifications without relying on paper documentation or manual verification requests.
Peter Preziosi, President and CEO of TruMerit, said the initiative is intended to help build a trusted digital identity for healthcare professionals whose qualifications need to be securely verified across borders. Dan Giurescu, CEO of Credivera, said professional credentials are increasingly becoming part of a person’s digital identity, with professionals controlling how those credentials are shared.
TruMerit is a Philadelphia-based organization with nearly 50 years of experience validating the education, training, and professional experience of internationally educated health professionals seeking authorization to practice in the United States and other countries. The partnership addresses verification delays and document fraud risks that slow cross-border hiring of nurses and allied health workers. The issuance builds on Credivera’s workforce verification platform, which had previously integrated AuthenticID’s biometric identity verification for professional credential validation across multiple sectors. Credivera also expanded its technical capabilities through its acquisition of the Oliu IDV stack from ATB Ventures in early 2025.
The work responds to healthcare workforce mobility, where employers and licensing authorities must confirm training and certification records across jurisdictions. Credivera’s system gives issuing organizations a way to make those records portable while preserving a verification trail for relying parties.
The TruMerit-Credivera issuance adds to verifiable credential deployments for regulated professions and identity contexts. IDEMIA Public Security and Proof formed a comparable partnership in March 2026 using selective disclosure and zero-knowledge proofs for privacy-preserving identity in regulated environments. In healthcare, portable credentials can reduce the need for repeated document checks when professionals move between employers, regulators and countries.
