Transmit Security Names Matt Thompson CEO and Unveils Agentic Trust

Transmit Security has appointed Matt Thompson as CEO and introduced Agentic Trust, a service for detecting, investigating and controlling AI agents in customer applications. The company is extending its customer identity and access management technology to help financial institutions and merchants govern software acting on customers’ behalf.

Thompson most recently served as president and chief commercial officer at Socure. He co-founded ID.me and served as its president, and previously led identity initiatives at Capital One and IDEMIA. His background also includes more than a decade in the U.S. Army, four combat deployments and service as a Special Operations Officer.

Agentic Trust is organized around detection, classification and governance. Transmit says it can identify agent traffic across online channels, including agents that do not declare themselves. Classification covers established AI assistants and custom automation frameworks, with the system attempting to infer the action an agent is seeking to perform.

The service also provides tools and research for investigating agent activity and capabilities. Organizations can use that information before setting access policy, rather than relying only on whether a session presents valid credentials or appears to be automated traffic. The company says its runtime analysis can map agents’ paths through customer applications, detect reconnaissance and spot attempts to abuse account-reset and recovery flows.

Governance controls assign scoped, time-limited permissions to an agent. A business can allow an action, restrict it, hold a risky step for the customer’s approval or stop it. These controls are intended for customer interactions such as opening an account, initiating a transfer, disputing a charge or completing a purchase.

Transmit’s existing technology combines customer identity and access management, fraud prevention and identity orchestration for banks, insurers and retailers. The new service adds visibility into agent activity within those customer environments. Co-founder Mickey Boodaei said Thompson would lead the company’s next phase as it expands beyond human identity.

“As consumers increasingly rely on AI agents to act on their behalf, businesses face a new challenge: identifying who, or what, is accessing their applications, understanding the risks and controlling what those agents can do,” Thompson said. “Existing solutions were designed for human interactions and lack the visibility needed for this new reality.”
