T5-AirKey works with both facial and fingerprint biometrics to enable secure authentication, data encryption, and digital signing. The technology addresses key vulnerabilities in conventional biometric systems, including man-in-the-middle attacks and template database breaches.
It also enables secure authentication without stored templates, data encryption accessible only to the biometric owner, and enhanced digital wallet security. T5-AirKey also enhances Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions and Verifiable Credentials (W3C VC) for encrypted, selectively disclosed credentials.
The solution meets ISO 30136 guidelines for biometric template protection, including requirements for revocability, non-reversibility, non-linkability, and protected matching. This development follows TECH5’s growing involvement in national digital identity projects, including its selection to provide biometric services for Peru’s national digital ID program.
“TECH5’s Biometric Template Protection technology meets ISO 30136 compliance by encrypting raw templates,” said Rahul Parthe, Co-founder, Chairman, and CTO of TECH5. “T5-AirKey goes a step further by ensuring that no templates are ever stored, eliminating static data vulnerabilities.” The advancement supports Parthe’s vision for decentralized identity and digital public infrastructure, as discussed in a recent episode of the ID Talk podcast.
The introduction of T5-AirKey rounds out TECH5’s technology portfolio for identity management systems, strengthening its position as a comprehensive provider of solutions for modern identity threats and legacy biometric system challenges.
