TECH5 has appointed biometric industry veteran Gary Newlin as Vice President of Sales for its U.S. operations, the company announced this week. Based in the United States, Newlin will lead efforts to expand TECH5’s presence across North America, with a focus on strengthening customer relationships and broadening the company’s product portfolio.

Newlin brings more than 35 years of experience in the biometrics sector, including 27 years in sales leadership at IDEMIA, where he managed national sales operations across all 50 U.S. states. In his new role at TECH5 USA, he will focus on scaling operations, building strategic partnerships, and deepening customer engagement across both the U.S. and Canadian markets.
The appointment comes as TECH5 continues to grow its global footprint, following its recent advances in decentralized identity and its role in national-scale digital public infrastructure initiatives. The company was also recently selected to develop a biometric DPI system for Honduras, demonstrating its growing influence in both emerging and established markets.
TECH5 USA operates as a subsidiary of TECH5 Group and specializes in the development of biometric solutions tailored for law enforcement. Its North American team includes seasoned professionals with extensive experience in deploying biometric identification technologies. Their work has supported early implementations in jurisdictions such as Los Angeles County and the state of Arizona, as well as multiple federal and cross-border deployments in Canada and Mexico.
“I was drawn to TECH5 for its innovation and growth potential, which align well with my background and strategic vision,” said Newlin. “I see strong momentum in the biometrics space, driven by advancements in authentication technologies, evolving regulations, and increasing demand across sectors. I am committed to positioning TECH5 USA as a leading force in this dynamic market.”
The appointment underscores TECH5’s strategic commitment to the North American market, where biometric adoption is being shaped by technological progress and evolving regulatory frameworks.
