TCL Home Security has introduced two new smart home security products at IFA 2025 in Berlin: the TCL D2R Max, described as the world’s first retrofit smart lock with multi-biometric authentication, and two AI-powered solar cameras. The launches are designed to make advanced home and business security more accessible while reducing installation complexity and improving sustainability.
3D biometric retrofit smart lock
The TCL D2R Max adds 3D facial recognition, palm vein scanning, and fingerprint authentication to existing European-style door hardware without requiring a full door lock replacement. The system’s depth-mapping facial recognition and palm vein scanning provide enhanced spoof resistance compared to 2D systems, while biometric data is encrypted and stored locally to meet global privacy standards. TCL says this multi-biometric approach delivers “military-grade accuracy” and reliable authentication in varied lighting conditions.
AI-powered solar security cameras
Alongside the lock, TCL unveiled its Cam D2 Pro and Cam B2 Pro solar-powered cameras. The Cam D2 Pro offers dual 3K PTZ lenses with 360° coverage, 8x zoom, AI object recognition for people, vehicles, pets, packages, and hazards, plus IP65-rated weather resistance. It runs on a 10,000 mAh battery with solar charging, enabling installation in locations without traditional power access. The Cam B2 Pro delivers a 3K wide-angle view in a compact format with similar AI detection capabilities, IP66 protection, and solar battery options suited to rural or expansive properties.
“With the launch of the D2R Max and our new camera lineup, TCL is redefining how families protect what matters most,” said Will, Marketing Manager at TCL Home Security. Both the lock and cameras aim to combine advanced security features with practical benefits like sustainable power and simplified installation, while reducing reliance on constant human monitoring through automated, AI-driven alerts.
