“Through these offerings, we can help unlock a transformative customer experience across travel, financial services, access control, hospitality, and beyond.” – Joey Pritikin, Founder and co-CEO, Tascent
Tascent has announced a self-service focused expansion of its iris and face biometric authentication technology. The company’s InSight One solution is now available as an embeddable OEM module that can be seamlessly integrated into kiosks, and also as a small-footprint ID station that allows for self-service enrollment and authentication.
The OEM module form factor allows for touchscreen-based self-service kiosks to integrate Tascent’s iris and face recognition technology. The ID Station (pictured above), meanwhile, also allows support for fingerprint, MRTD, and barcode scanning. Both form factors offer the biometric capabilities expected from InSight One, including simultaneous face and iris matching at a distance of 0.5 to 1 meters, and imaging that exceeds ISO/ICAO standards, as well as open architecture in line with Tascent’s core philosophy.
Commenting on the launch of the new InSight One form factors, Joey Pritikin, Founder and co-CEO, Tascent, commented: “Our new self-service solutions mark another milestone in making the benefits of biometrics more accessible across a variety of applications. Through these offerings, we can help unlock a transformative customer experience across travel, financial services, access control, hospitality, and beyond.”
Launched simultaneously with the Tascent Enterprise Suite software platform, the new InSight One form factors signal the company’s strong focus on usability and optimal user experience. In a briefing with FindBiometrics, Tascent Founder and co-CEO Alastair Partington emphasized the life-improving possibilities of having self-service biometric enrollment and matching, specifically highlighting the hospitality and financial services markets. Other stated use-cases include Know Your Customer (KYC) applications, vending machine payment authorizations, ATM identification, and airport passenger management.
The last of those use cases is the subject of a new collaboration Tascent has embarked on with Embross, a provider of self-service passenger technologies. The partnership will result in Tascent’s InSight One technology deployed “on some of the world’s most popular airline and airport self-service solutions driving the next generation of seamless passenger travel and border security,” according to the press release announcing the collaboration.
“Our partnership with Tascent reflects a great alignment of philosophies as we work together to deliver a new suite of capabilities to the benefit of our customers and the broader airport experience,” said Achilles Tzelepis, President and CEO, Embross.
Beyond the Embross deal, Tascent asserts that the new InSight One form factors have been integrated into self-service solutions by its global partners, with rollouts planned throughout this year.
