Sumsub Aims to Streamline KYC Verification with Reusable Digital ID System

Identity verification provider Sumsub launched its new Reusable Digital Identity Product Suite today, aiming to address the growing challenge of repetitive Know Your Customer (KYC) verifications across digital services. The solution allows users to complete a single verification process that can then be reused across multiple platforms and services.

The launch comes amid increasing industry focus on streamlining identity verification processes, with other providers like Ondato recently introducing similar reusable verification systems. Sumsub’s new product suite builds on the company’s existing verification infrastructure, which received certification under the UK’s Global Digital Identity Certification program in August 2024.

The development addresses an important market need, as recent data shows that fraud networks are becoming increasingly sophisticated, with approximately 1 in 100 digital platform users being connected to fraud rings. Sumsub has been expanding its presence in the identity verification space, recently partnering with Papaya Global to enhance security in global workforce payments and joining the EU Payments Association as a patron member.

Sumsub was founded in 2015 in London by four co-founders: Andrew Sever, Vyacheslav Zholudev, and twin brothers Jacob and Peter Sever. The company initially started as a graphic editor-detecting tool but quickly evolved into a powerful KYC (Know Your Customer) solution. In 2017, Sumsub secured its seed round led by Flint Capital and Ilya Perekopsky, and opened an R&D center in Berlin. The company experienced significant growth in 2021, expanding its customer base and global presence.

In 2022, Sumsub raised a Series B round, securing multi-million-dollar funding for future growth. By 2024, Sumsub had grown into a comprehensive onboarding orchestration platform with offices in Miami, Singapore, and Dubai, employing over 500 people and serving 2,000+ clients across 220 countries and territories. Throughout its history, Sumsub has consistently focused on developing innovative solutions for identity verification and fraud prevention in the digital space.
