Startup isVerified Emerges From Stealth With Voice Deepfake Detection Apps

Israeli startup isVerified has emerged from stealth with consumer-facing deepfake detection apps for Android and iOS. The company’s launch focuses on voice deepfake detection, using continuous voice authentication to flag synthetic or manipulated speech during calls and other communications.

isVerified says its platform combines biometric identity verification with real-time analysis of voice patterns to securely bind the verified person to the communication channel. The approach is designed to detect anomalies that suggest voice cloning or synthetic generation, rather than relying on a one-time authentication event.

The company is entering a fast-growing market shaped by escalating deepfake threats. Industry data cited in coverage shows companies lost more than $200 million to deepfake scams in the first quarter of 2025, while reported deepfake incidents in North America rose 1,740% between 2022 and 2023. The deepfake detection market is projected to grow from just over $1.5 billion in 2025 to more than $4.9 billion by 2027.

Voice deepfakes are a particular concern because generative AI tools can clone voices from small audio samples, enabling fraud in contact centers, executive impersonation, and social engineering attacks. isVerified’s apps aim to put detection capabilities directly on user devices rather than limiting them to enterprise security stacks.

isVerified enters a competitive field of enterprise-focused vendors offering voice and multi-modal anti-spoofing solutions. Established players include iProov, Pindrop, Spitch, Veridas, and others that focus on contact centers and regulated onboarding, while isVerified’s consumer mobile apps target a different segment of the market.

The broader industry is moving toward standardization and independent evaluation of deepfake defenses. Europe’s CEN TS 18099 provides a baseline for synthetic media detection, and an ISO/IEC standard is in development. Recent independent testing has also validated biometric injection attack detection against emerging digital identity guidelines, underscoring demand for measurable performance claims.
