Identity verification provider Shufti has partnered with Cevro AI to bring know-your-customer and anti-money-laundering checks directly into AI-powered customer support for online gaming operators. The integration places Shufti’s identity verification, biometric face matching, and screening tools inside Cevro’s support agent, so a compliance step can be handled within a player conversation rather than handed off to a separate queue.
The design targets the moments in a gaming session when a regulated operator has to confirm who it is dealing with. Under the integration, a support interaction can trigger document validation and a biometric face match to confirm a player’s identity in real time, alongside checks against sanctions lists, politically exposed person databases, and adverse media. Shufti describes its verification as spanning a large catalog of document types across more than 200 countries and territories, the breadth that cross-border gaming operators contend with.
Three support scenarios anchor the partnership. Player re-verification can be required when a withdrawal crosses a regulatory threshold, document checks can be prompted by ongoing AML monitoring, and screening can be refreshed when a player’s risk profile changes. Routing those checks through the support agent is meant to let an operator satisfy the requirement during the conversation that surfaced it, instead of interrupting the player with a separate verification flow.
“Partnering with Shufti allows us to bring enterprise-grade compliance directly into the player support experience,” said Chaim Heber, Co-founder at Cevro AI. Max Irwin, VP of Sales for Europe at Shufti, said the integration lets operators “meet regulatory requirements in real time without compromising the player experience,” framing compliance as something handled inside support rather than bolted onto it.
The regulated gaming sector has been a steady adopter of identity verification, where operators must confirm age and identity at onboarding and re-check players at payout. Vendors have built gaming-specific KYC integrations such as iDenfy’s partnership with iGaming Express for gambling ID verification, reflecting the compliance pressure that operators in the space face. The Shufti and Cevro integration extends that requirement into the support channel itself.
