SarawakPass Links State and Federal Services Through MyDigital ID

SarawakPass has integrated with Malaysia’s MyDigital ID, enabling reciprocal access to participating state and federal web services. Sarawak, a Malaysian state on Borneo, uses SarawakPass as its digital identity gateway for government services.

SarawakPass users can scan a MyDigital ID QR code to sign in to participating federal websites. MyDigital ID users can likewise scan a SarawakPass QR code to enter participating Sarawak web services. The current arrangement applies to participating web services; extension to mobile applications is a separate phase of the integration.

Access to selected MyDigital ID-enabled mobile applications is planned for the coming months. The state and federal integration follows an agreement signed with Malaysia’s National Cyber Security Agency in November 2025.

MyDigital ID CEO Nik Hisham Nik Ibrahim said the national platform now serves 14.1 million users through 203 integrations and has recorded 82 million logins since August 2025. Those figures cover MyDigital ID nationally.

SarawakPass also supports corporate single sign-on for Sarawak Energy’s SEB Cares, Sarawak Water and AirBorneo. Single sign-on allows users to access connected services through an established identity instead of maintaining separate login credentials for every service.

The state platform’s enrollment process uses MyKad, Malaysia’s national identity card, and a facial scan to verify the applicant. The SarawakPass app supports facial recognition and QR-code login for web portals, with access carried across connected government applications. It is available through Apple’s App Store, Google Play and Huawei AppGallery.

Residents can use the app to access state benefits. Senior citizens can activate a virtual Kenyalang Gold Card and check their Senior Citizen Health Benefit. Eligible recipients can also check basic-needs assistance under Sumbangan Keperluan Asas Sarawak and receive it through their S Pay Global wallet.

Malaysia has separately introduced a redesigned physical MyKad with a restricted enforcement QR code. That card program is distinct from MyDigital ID and SarawakPass. The redesign had caused a temporary first-time MyDigital ID registration barrier, while existing digital certificates continued to work. Support for the new card was scheduled for October 1. SarawakPass registration likewise relies on checking an identity document and face before providing access to its connected services.
