Saint Deem Opens China’s First Dedicated Vein-Recognition Module Production Line

Saint Deem has opened what it says is China’s first dedicated manufacturing line for vein-recognition modules, according to a report from China Daily. The new facility is located in Huainan, in China’s Anhui province, and is intended to support large-scale production of vein-recognition components and authentication devices.

China Daily reported that the site spans more than 10,000 square meters and includes clean-room SMT production, assembly, and packaging lines. Saint Deem said the plant is designed to produce up to 2 million vein-recognition modules and devices per year, a scale that could support broader commercial deployments of vein biometrics across multiple sectors.

The company pitches vein recognition as an authentication method for both consumer and enterprise applications, with potential uses in consumer electronics, payments, vehicles, and smart infrastructure. China Daily cited examples including palm-vein payments, smart locks, public transit use cases, and high-security environments.

Vein biometrics has also been appearing in a growing number of consumer-facing deployments and product announcements, including contactless palm-based payments and palm vein recognition for smart locks.

Saint Deem said the Huainan site is the first specialized production line in China devoted solely to vein-recognition products. Co-CEO Qian Haomin described vein recognition as an internal biometric signal that is difficult to replicate, which the company positioned as an advantage over modalities based on surface characteristics.

While the announcement centers on the factory opening, the company’s stated production capacity and manufacturing setup suggest a strategy focused on scaling hardware output as vein-based authentication moves into more mainstream deployment scenarios in China.
