ROC Face1 Wins Best in Biometrics at ISC West 2026

ROC’s Face1 reader has picked up a Best in Biometrics award at the 2026 Security Industry Association New Products and Solutions Awards during ISC West, giving the newly launched access-control device an early validation point in the physical security market. The recognition comes only days after ROC introduced Face1 as the first product in its dedicated access line.

Face1 is positioned as a compact biometric reader for converged physical and logical access environments. ROC says the unit combines NIST-ranked facial matching with a field-upgradable sensor, forged carbon-fiber construction and on-device support for functions including watchlist matching, gun detection and QR-based time-based one-time password workflows. The company is pitching it as hardware that can add identity and security intelligence without forcing customers to replace broader door-control infrastructure.

The award gives ROC a second public milestone as it tries to turn benchmark visibility into deployed security products. Earlier this week the company launched Face1 for biometric access control and security intelligence, following February claims that it claimed the top global position in a NIST latent fingerprint benchmark on a large DoD dataset.

SIA’s NPS awards are handed out each year at ISC West across categories covering physical security hardware, software and services. A category win does not function as a standards certification, but it does put a product in front of integrators, resellers and enterprise buyers who use ISC West as a scouting ground for near-term deployments and channel partnerships. The show is also a meeting point for consultants and channel partners that shape shortlists for upcoming security projects.

For ROC, the result reinforces a strategy that goes beyond matching accuracy alone. The company is packaging biometrics with threat detection and access control in a single edge device, betting that customers want readers that can do more than verify identity at the door. The award gives that pitch another visible talking point as the company courts buyers in the access-control market. It also underlines ROC’s effort to turn software reputation into recognizable hardware positioning.
