Reveal Technology’s Identifi Handheld Biometric System Fields Across Multiple SOCOM Components

Reveal Technology’s Identifi handheld biometric identification system has been fielded to hundreds of U.S. special operators across multiple U.S. Special Operations Command components, including U.S. Army Special Operations Command, Marine Forces Special Operations Command, and Naval Special Warfare units. The fielding represents an expansion of the company’s footprint within the special operations enterprise following its 2024 acquisition of DFL Technology, a firm with an established track record of USSOCOM contracts for tactical mobile applications and biometric operations tools.

Identifi combines an Android-based mobile application with the IDsled hardware peripheral, a ruggedized accessory integrating the IB Five-0 contact fingerprint sensor and the IriTech IriShield dual-eye iris scanner. The system supports multimodal biometric capture, including facial recognition, contact and contactless fingerprint, iris, voice, and ID document scanning covering more than 2,000 document types from 140 countries. The platform operates fully offline, with on-device matching and watchlist management designed for communications-denied and austere environments. Identifi integrates with ATAK (Android Team Awareness Kit), enabling biometric match data to flow directly into operators’ situational awareness picture.

The fielding lands as SOCOM’s Tactical X Event-2026 procurement notice signaled the command’s ambitions for a layered identity intelligence architecture spanning facial recognition, voice biometrics, and AI analytics. It builds on SOCOM’s broader identity exploitation investment, which has included exploration of a multi-year academic partnership for biometric and forensic collection capabilities. USASOC’s adoption of Identifi also aligns with the Army’s five-year biometrics and forensics RFI, which signaled sustained institutional demand for mobile tactical biometric collection.

Isaac Riddle heads Reveal’s Identity and Biometrics Business Unit. CEO and Co-Founder Garrett Smith, a Marine Corps veteran, said the acquisition reinforces the company’s vision to position Reveal as a rare intelligence provider delivering layered, tactically-relevant intelligence at the point of decision. Reveal Technology is headquartered in Austin, Texas.
