Regula and V-Key Partner to Strengthen Mobile Identity Security Across Asia-Pacific

Identity verification company Regula has partnered with mobile security firm V-Key to integrate Regula’s document authentication, facial biometrics, and liveness detection into V-Key’s digital identity platform, targeting mobile onboarding and authentication across Asia-Pacific. The companies are positioning the combined offering for banking, telecom, government, and digital services.

Under the integration, Regula contributes its Document Reader SDK and Face SDK, which handle identity document authentication, face matching, and liveness detection to confirm that a remote user is a real, present person rather than a photo, recording, or synthetic image. V-Key contributes V-Key ID, its digital identity platform, which combines those checks with V-OS, the company’s Virtual Secure Element, alongside multi-factor authentication and mobile app protection.

The pairing addresses a specific exposure in mobile identity. “Mobile platforms are now at the center of identity interactions, which makes them both a key growth channel and a primary target for fraud,” said Ihar Kliashchou, Chief Technology Officer at Regula. “Organizations want integrated platforms that can improve security while maintaining a seamless mobile user experience,” said Raymond Lee, Chief Operating Officer at V-Key.

V-Key states that its V-OS secure element is deployed in more than 600 million mobile installations worldwide and carries certifications including Common Criteria, FIPS 140-2, Singapore’s IMDA accreditation, and SOC 2. Regula brings a document template database it says exceeds 16,000 templates from 254 countries and territories, used to check whether a presented passport or ID card matches the genuine document design for its claimed origin.

Regula has been extending that document and biometric stack across recent releases, including an update that brought its Document Reader SDK into line with a new ISO facial data standard ahead of a 2026 compliance deadline. Embedding that capability inside V-Key ID places document and face verification alongside the secure-element and app-hardening layers on the same device.

The companies are presenting the integration as a way for regulated institutions to onboard and authenticate users entirely on a mobile device, combining a document scan and a liveness-checked selfie with hardware-grade key protection. The integrated solution is available immediately to V-Key customers across the region.
