The aim of the Realbotix Robotic AI Vision System is to improve robots’ environmental awareness and interaction capabilities.
A central feature is the system’s ability to detect human presence and adjust facial expressions naturally, which helps reduce the “uncanny valley” effect often associated with humanoid robots.
Users can upload facial data through the Realbotix Robot Controller, enabling robots to recognize and tailor their responses to specific individuals.
The system’s cloud-based AI integration allows continuous updates to improve interpretation of scenes, objects, people, and behaviors. It works with large language models (LLMs) to enable more contextually appropriate conversations.
“The Realbotix AI Vision System marks a step forward in AI robotics,” asserted Andrew Kiguel, CEO of Realbotix. “By adding intelligent vision, the use cases for our robots are enhanced. With this development, Realbotix reaffirms its commitment to redefining the role of robots in our lives, offering solutions that improve the use cases for robots in social or business settings.”
The development reflects broader progress in humanoid robotics. Recent market activity has seen other companies like Figure advancing similar technologies aimed at mass-producing companion robots.
The system incorporates Realbotix’s proprietary, patented realistic eyeball technology, which supports modular eye color installation. The company showcased a beta version at CES in Las Vegas in January 2025.
Realbotix will offer the system with new robot purchases for fall 2025 delivery, while existing customers can upgrade their current models. The company expects applications in healthcare, retail, security, smart homes, and entertainment sectors.
