Precise Biometrics Signs India and Vietnam Distribution Deal With AqTronics

Precise Biometrics has signed a non-exclusive distribution agreement with AqTronics covering biometric hardware sales in India and Vietnam.

The agreement includes the FPC AllKey product family and fingerprint sensors that became part of Precise Biometrics through its combination with Fingerprint Cards. AqTronics will provide local sales coverage, customer support and supply-chain services in the two markets.

Precise said the companies will initially concentrate on biometric access-control and identification applications. The arrangement combines its fingerprint technology with AqTronics’ regional presence and experience distributing semiconductor components and electronic systems.

The deal follows the completion of Precise Biometrics’ merger with Fingerprint Cards. That transaction expanded Precise beyond biometric software by adding sensors, processors and complete products to its portfolio.

FPC AllKey is the combined company’s line of finished fingerprint-authentication products. The family is intended for uses in which device makers or system integrators need the sensor, processing hardware and biometric software supplied together rather than assembled from separate components.

AqTronics’ role is to make those products available through an established regional distribution channel. It will market and sell the hardware as well as provide local technical support. The non-exclusive structure allows Precise to retain other routes to market while adding a partner focused on the two countries.

In access-control deployments, fingerprint sensors can authenticate an enrolled user before releasing a lock or granting entry through a managed system. Identification products use the same biometric modality to associate a person with a stored identity record. Both applications require the sensor hardware to work with matching software and the surrounding electronic system.

Precise has also been building demand for AllKey through direct design agreements. The company recently signed a deal to supply AllKey Pro for PamirAI’s computer approval checks, an application designed to verify a user’s fingerprint before an artificial-intelligence agent can act on a computer.

The new distribution agreement extends that hardware push into two large Asian markets while leaving Precise free to appoint other partners. AqTronics will begin with access and identity projects in India and Vietnam, supported by its local sales and semiconductor expertise.
