IOTRUST is continuing its partnership with Precise Biometrics for the second generation of the D’CENT biometric hardware wallet. Precise’s BioMatch software performs fingerprint verification on the device, letting users unlock access to digital assets without relying solely on manual PIN entry.
The second-generation wallet launched earlier in September. A hardware wallet stores the private keys used to authorize cryptocurrency transactions in a dedicated physical device, keeping them separate from a general-purpose computer or phone that may be exposed to malware.
BioMatch compares a live fingerprint with the enrolled biometric template inside the wallet. On-device matching keeps the authentication decision within the hardware rather than sending a fingerprint image to a remote service. The fingerprint controls access to the wallet, while blockchain transactions still depend on the cryptographic private keys protected by the device.
Precise and IOTRUST began working together in 2018, when the South Korean blockchain company introduced its first D’CENT biometric cold wallet. The continued agreement carries the same biometric software into the redesigned hardware generation.
IOTRUST says the D’CENT service supports more than 10,000 tokens across over 100 blockchain main networks. Its product range includes the biometric hardware wallet, a card-type wallet and mobile wallet software, giving users several ways to manage self-custodied digital assets.
D’CENT has also been expanding the networks and assets available through its products. The company previously added support for assets on the Manta Pacific network, extending the reach of its biometric wallet beyond earlier blockchain integrations.
Fingerprint technology suppliers are developing components specifically for wallets and other systems that combine authentication with protected key storage. Fingerprint Cards, for example, added a secure element to its AllKey Ultra platform for passkeys, cryptocurrency wallets and identity applications.
IOTRUST Chief Executive Baek Sang Su said biometric authentication remains part of the company’s product strategy as demand for self-custody tools grows. Precise provides the matching software, while IOTRUST designs and operates the D’CENT hardware, applications and blockchain-service ecosystem.
The deployment keeps the biometric function focused on local access to the wallet. Transaction signing, token support and connections to blockchain services remain part of the broader D’CENT system protected by that authentication step.
