Ponte Finance Integrates iDenfy for KYC and AML Checks

UK secured lender Ponte Finance has integrated identity verification and AML tools from iDenfy, a global identity verification provider, to support onboarding of both borrowers and investors. The partnership reflects the growing reliance of emerging lenders on third-party RegTech platforms to meet compliance obligations under the UK’s Money Laundering Regulations.

Ponte Finance PLC was incorporated in July 2024 and operates as a property-backed bridging lender. Its borrower and investor portals at ponte.finance highlight a short-term, asset-backed lending model, with announcements of recent completions such as a £122,250 buy-to-let loan in June. Investor onboarding requires passing KYC and AML checks, which Ponte confirms are conducted through iDenfy, with a minimum investment set at £1,000 and payments handled via Yapily Open Banking integrations.

iDenfy provides a suite of identity verification, AML screening and monitoring, sanctions and politically exposed person checks, and 3D liveness detection. The company has been steadily building its presence in the compliance market, having launched a partner program earlier this year to expand adoption, and was recognized by G2 as one of the top-ranked identity verification solutions with a strong customer satisfaction rating. It has also extended its reach into adjacent sectors, securing deals in areas such as mobility, crowdlending, and crypto. Recent integrations include a partnership with Evemo to verify shared mobility users and a collaboration with Venevo to strengthen crowdlending security. In July, Okazio adopted iDenfy tools ahead of MiCA compliance deadlines, underscoring the platform’s traction across regulated industries.

For Ponte, the integration likely covers document capture, liveness checks, and sanctions and PEP screening for borrowers, alongside investor identity verification and ongoing monitoring. The model aligns with iDenfy’s commercial approach, which includes a “pay per approved verification” option that allows clients to align costs with successful onboarding.

With the new partnership, Ponte is signaling a lean, API-driven operating model typical of newer non-bank lenders. Automating due diligence processes reduces operational overhead while helping the company maintain compliance with FCA rules, which require risk-based identity verification, sanctions screening, and record-keeping.
