Pindrop Partners with Cisco to Embed Deepfake and Fraud Detection into Webex

Pindrop has announced a partnership with Cisco to integrate its fraud and deepfake detection tools into the Webex collaboration platform. The companies say the integration is intended to bring identity and risk signals into meetings and contact‑center interactions, rather than only at login or the network perimeter.

According to Pindrop, Webex Suite and Webex Contact Center customers will be able to use passive voice biometric authentication for contact centers and Pindrop Pulse for Meetings, a product that analyzes audio, video, and location signals in real time. The system is designed to flag potential deepfake or impersonation attempts by evaluating “Real Human, Right Human, Right Location.”

The partnership is positioned as a response to the growing use of AI‑generated audio and video in social‑engineering schemes. Recent industry developments include AWS and Microsoft stepping back from voice biometrics amid deepfake concerns.

“Trust is the foundation of collaboration,” said Amit Barave, VP of Product Management for Webex Suite & AI at Cisco. Pindrop CEO Vijay Balasubramaniyan said the integration aims to provide “enterprise‑grade protection across every interaction.” Related efforts include investment in voice deepfake detection and audio authentication.
