Oura Ring Launches AI Health Assistant to Deliver Personalized Insights

Oura, the maker of popular smart rings, has launched Oura Advisor, a new AI-powered feature that provides personalized health insights and recommendations to users. The feature leverages artificial intelligence to analyze biometric data collected by Oura rings and deliver tailored guidance through a conversational interface.

The new AI assistant builds on Oura’s established track record of health tracking innovation, following its recent partnerships with glucose monitoring platforms and the introduction of advanced women’s health features in recent years.

Oura Advisor analyzes users’ long-term health trends across sleep, activity, readiness, and resilience metrics, presenting the data through interactive visualizations. The system employs a sophisticated large language model that enables natural conversations with users about their health data.

“Advisor is your in-app health and wellbeing assistant. It helps make sense of your data—whether it’s your sleep, activity, or recovery trends—by providing context and insights that go beyond the numbers,” explains Johanna Still, UX Writing Manager and Head of Insights at Oura.

Users can customize their experience by selecting between “conversational” and “direct” communication styles, and choosing check-in frequencies ranging from daily to weekly. The system also includes a memory feature that maintains context across conversations to provide more personalized recommendations over time.

Beta testing through Oura Labs showed promising engagement, with over 60 percent of participants using Advisor multiple times weekly and nearly 20 percent engaging daily. Importantly, 60 percent of users reported better understanding of their health metrics, while 56 percent indicated the feature helped them apply insights to improve their wellbeing.

“Oura has been capturing physiological signals and turning them into magic moments of insight for members since day one, and now with Advisor we’re enabling genuine two-way conversations and delivering tailored feedback,” said Drake Caraker, Data Science Manager at Oura.

The feature is currently rolling out over a two-week period to users of Oura Ring Gen3 and Oura Ring 4 with English-language settings. Support for additional languages is planned for later in 2025. Oura has implemented strong privacy controls, allowing users to manage stored information and ensuring that private health data remains confidential.
