Ottawa-Based Cyphercor Receives OCI Funding to Enhance LoginTC MFA for Critical Infrastructure

Ottawa-based Cyphercor has received Ontario Centre for Innovation (OCI) funding to enhance its LoginTC multi-factor authentication platform for manufacturing and operational technology environments, including biometric and FIDO2-compliant smart-card capabilities.

The grant supports development of MFA solutions tailored to critical infrastructure sectors where legacy systems and operational technology environments present unique authentication challenges. Manufacturing facilities, utilities, and industrial operations often rely on older systems that are difficult to integrate with modern cloud-based authentication tools.

LoginTC, Cyphercor’s flagship product, provides zero-trust multi-factor authentication that supports both legacy and modern infrastructure. The platform enables centralized management of user access and onboarding processes. The OCI funding will allow Cyphercor to add capabilities specifically designed for operational technology environments where standard MFA approaches may not be feasible.

The enhanced platform will include FIDO2 authentication, which uses cryptographic key pairs rather than shared secrets, and biometric smart-card capabilities for environments where smartphone-based authentication is impractical. FIDO2 compliance is increasingly required by government and enterprise security standards. Kensington recently expanded its VeriMark portfolio with FIDO2 Level 2 NFC security keys, reflecting growing demand for hardware-based phishing-resistant authentication.

Cyphercor’s participation in the Innovation Solutions Canada testing program previously resulted in LoginTC being evaluated in Shared Services Canada’s ICELab for market readiness, security performance, and scalability. The company’s MFA technology is also available through government procurement channels.

The funding reflects broader policy interest in securing operational technology and critical infrastructure against cyber threats. CrowdStrike launched FalconID with risk-aware MFA capabilities earlier this year, and the SendQuick-Yoti partnership addresses secure remote access with digital ID authentication.
