The OpenID Foundation has announced a major demonstration of its proposed AuthZEN standard, featuring 15 participants showcasing real-world interoperability at this week’s Gartner Identity and Access Management Summit in London on March 24-25, 2025.

The demonstration will showcase the standardization of authorization practices across the identity and access management industry. Scheduled for March 25, the event will feature three half-hour interoperability sessions at 1PM, 2:45PM, and 4:30PM GMT, where participants will demonstrate practical implementations of the AuthZEN specification.

AuthZEN co-chairs David Brossard and Omri Gazitt will deliver an executive presentation titled “AuthZEN: the ‘OpenID Connect’ of Authorization,” highlighting the standard’s potential impact on the IAM landscape. The presentation aims to showcase how AuthZEN could revolutionize authorization practices in the same way that OpenID Connect transformed authentication.

The strong industry participation in the interoperability demonstration reflects growing recognition of the need for standardized authorization practices. This aligns with the broader trend of increasing partnerships in the digital identity ecosystem, where companies are collaborating to enhance security and user experience across multiple sectors.

The demonstration at the Gartner summit represents an important step toward establishing AuthZEN as a widely adopted standard in the identity and access management industry, potentially simplifying how organizations handle authorization across their digital systems.
