“Ubisecure will be a key ally in expanding that reach even further and exploring new use cases, with their prominent and varied customer base.” – Husayn Kassai, CEO, Onfido
Onfido‘s selfie-based authentication technology is being integrated into another platform thanks to a new partnership with Ubisecure.
Based in Europe, the latter offers a Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM) platform comprising CIAM middleware API packages. This platform will now incorporate Onfido’s facial recognition-based solution, in which an end user can confirm their identity by taking a selfie and uploading it alongside pictures of their official identity documents, with the biometric technology comparing and matching these images.
“Our technology is now being leveraged by a growing number of global companies for online identity verification,” proclaimed Onfido CEO Husayn Kassai in a statement announcing the partnership. “Ubisecure will be a key ally in expanding that reach even further and exploring new use cases, with their prominent and varied customer base.”
This month alone, Onfido has announced an expansion of its partnership with Dutch mobile bank Bunq, and a Digital Access as a Service platform developed in collaboration with ForgeRock.
For Ubisecure’s part, the company’s VP of Channel & Alliance, Jonathan Clark, emphasized the balance that Onfido’s approach strikes between achieving a high level of security and ensuring convenience for the end user. “Service providers should not have to compromise on user experience in aid of security – Onfido’s biometric tech is one such authentication example with the best of both worlds,” he said, adding that the collaboration has delivered “an exciting new offering for our customers who want to verify their user base securely and efficiently.”
