OnePlus has confirmed its upcoming OnePlus 15T flagship will feature a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, with the device set to launch on March 25, 2026.
OnePlus China President Li Jie Louis confirmed the sensor upgrade in a Weibo post, describing it as an upgrade over the previous generation. The OnePlus 15T carries a 6.32-inch flat AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate and 1.1mm bezels, similar in footprint to its predecessor the OnePlus 13T. The phone also supports magnetic accessories including chargers, protective cases, and coolers.
A Geekbench listing for the device, with model number OnePlus PLZ110, shows it running Android 16 with 16GB of RAM and an octa-core chipset with a 4.61GHz prime core. The phone is rated IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K for water and dust resistance and includes a 7,500mAh battery with 100W wired charging.
Ultrasonic fingerprint sensors use sound waves to create a 3D map of the fingerprint ridge pattern, offering better performance in wet conditions and higher spoofing resistance than optical in-display sensors that rely on reflected light. Qualcomm has been the primary supplier of ultrasonic fingerprint technology for smartphones, with its sensors used in Samsung Galaxy S series devices and select other flagships.
