OneID Secures New Funding to Expand Bank-Verified Digital Identity Services

OneID, the UK’s exclusive provider of bank-verified digital identification services, has secured new funding led by ACF Investors. The company has raised over £16 million from more than 200 angel investors across the UK, Sweden, and the US, and plans wto use the investment for product development and market growth. The company verifies identities through bank-verified data in twelve seconds, without requiring passport scans, selfies, or user registration. The service protects privacy by not storing personal data and requiring explicit user consent for data sharing.

“At OneID, our goal is to make the world safer by making digital identity verification more efficient and accessible for businesses and users,” said Paula Sussex, CEO of OneID. Sussex highlighted the company’s progress in 2024, including an upcoming Adobe integration launching with major UK high-street banks.

The investment coincides with changes in UK regulations. The Online Safety Act of 2023 now requires over 100,000 online service providers to implement strong identity and age verification measures, while the Department of Science and Technology has proposed Digital ID solutions for age verification.

OneID has grown its market presence through partnerships with major institutions like NatWest, supporting customer onboarding and services in Scandinavian markets. The company recently collaborated with Empro to create an AI-powered employee verification app for the UK facilities management sector.

The solution is accessible to approximately 90 percent of UK adults who use online banking. This broad availability, paired with strong security features, helps OneID prevent sophisticated fraud while maintaining seamless user experiences.

The new funding will help OneID expand and enhance services for current and future customers as it continues to develop digital identity verification in the UK and beyond.
