Safety management solutions provider Omnigo Software has announced the launch of its proprietary biometric attendance tracking system, Sheldon, capable of tracking, monitoring and reporting each individual entering a facility using thermal scanning and facial recognition.

Sheldon uses touchless thermal scanners that collect and store each person’s temperature — at a rate of up to 30 people per minute — and can notify any relevant authorities if a predetermined threshold is exceeded. The system’s industrial grade kiosk can be installed in a short period of time at entrances to schools, hospitals, and public and private venues with minimal impact on existing IT infrastructure.
“The health and safety of employees and visitors is the number one priority for all clients as they face elevated risks due to COVID-19,” said Omnigo Software CEO, Richard DeFrancisco. “Sheldon’s cutting-edge technology gives employees and visitors the confidence and peace of mind they need to enter facilities safely during this trying time.”
Biometric access control and attendance tracking solutions like Sheldon have been growing in popularity at a tremendous rate in recent months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As economies around the world find themselves anxious to reopen public and private buildings to employees and the public once again, concern over the spread of the virus and a second wave of infections has led many to turn to biometrics as a solution.
Touchless thermal temperature scanners like the one used by Sheldon allow for large numbers of individuals to have their temperature taken with minimal to no human contact necessary, and facial and document recognition systems are able to provide the contact tracing that could potentially be a crucial tool in helping mitigate COVID-19’s spread.
“Sheldon is the only system available that provides community intelligence, analyzing all people in a physical location and providing organizations with risk mitigation and predictive maintenance,” added DeFrancisco.
