NEXT Biometrics Appoints Ulf Ritsvall as New VP of Sales

NEXT Biometrics has hired a former executive from another fingerprint sensor specialist as its latest important hire. The company has announced that Ulf Ritsvall is its new Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, with the position to become effective on October 15, 2021.

Ritsvall is coming to the company from Fingerprint Cards, where he initially started as the head of marketing and communications in 2019, and most recently occupied the role of head of business development. Like NEXT Biometrics, Fingerprint Cards is a developer of fingerprint sensor solutions, though the latter has a stronger focus on mobile device applications.

In announcing the appointment, however, NEXT Biometrics painted Ritsvall’s track record in broad strokes, emphasizing his management experience in the ICT and biometrics industries, and highlighting his “strong commercial background and experience from commercializing both start-ups and more established operations.”

“We are pleased to have an experienced executive like Mr. Ritsvall joining NEXT,” said CEO Peter Heuman. “His global track record from the Biometric industry will strengthen our ability to commercialize our solutions and accelerate growth.”

News of the appointment comes soon after NEXT received an initial purchase order from a multi-year contract with an unnamed client that the company has described as a European tech company. The company also picked up momentum in India’s Aadhaar market thanks to orders received earlier this year.
