“Arrow Electronics has a strong business network that could prove advantageous in funneling NEXT Biometrics technology to over 100,000 OEMs.”
A new partnership could offer NEXT Biometrics a powerful connection to the potentially lucrative Internet of Things market. The company has teamed up with Arrow Electronics to offer a turnkey biometric solution for IoT devices running Windows 10.
The solution combines Arrow Electronics’ Dragonboard 410c, a development board based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, with NEXT Biometrics’ recently-announced NB-1411-S fingerprint sensor module, which features its own embedded processor. The joint solution is designed to offer IoT developers a means of quickly and relatively easily integrating a fingerprint biometric authentication feature into their products.
Arrow Electronics has a strong business network that could prove advantageous in funneling NEXT Biometrics technology to over 100,000 OEMs. Commenting on the partnership in a statement, NEXT Biometrics EMEA Sales VP Radek Matyasek pointed to “the rapid expansion” of the IoT in asserting, “we are excited to be working with Arrow to bring the biometric authentication feature to their quickly growing DragonBoard community.”
Arrow Electronics will be showing off the solution this week at the Embedded World conference in Nuremberg.
