NEC to Demo AI-Driven Enterprise Video Analytics Solution in Washington

NEC will demo its Enterprise Video Analytics solution at this week’s Connect:ID exhibition, the company has announced.

The NEC EVA solution essentially applies AI-driven machine learning to video feeds, designed to look for suspicious people, objects, and behavior. It’s based on NEC’s NeoFace facial recognition platform, which has already been proven through a wide range of security surveillance deployments around the world. In its iteration with NEC EVA, the technology supports not only the detection of potential security threats, but also the estimation of crowd sizes and queue waiting times, offering other potential smart city applications.

In addition to showcasing this technology, NEC will also raise its profile at Connect:ID with multiple speaking engagements for executives from its Advanced Recognition Systems unit. SVP Raffie Beroukhim will deliver a talk entitled, “Speaking Fishbowl: Hardening Soft Targets with ID” at 1:45 p.m. on May 1st, and VP of Federal Operations Benji Hutchinson will give a talk entitled, “Speaking Defense: ID in Theater” at 10:45 a.m. on May 2nd. Meanwhile, the unit’s Chief Federal Solutions Architect, Matt Pruitt, will participate in the panel session “Securing the Internet of Things” on May 2nd, starting at 2:40 p.m.

Connect:ID is scheduled to run from May 1st to May 2nd at the Walter E. Washington Center in Washington, D.C., with NEC slated to showcase from booth #101.
