Medical Care Technologies Prepares In-House Studies for AI Mental-Health and Preventive-Biometrics Modules

Medical Care Technologies (OTC Pink: MDCE) says it has entered the preparatory phase for internally conducted research on two modules within its Consumer AI Division: an AI mental-health screening tool and a “preventive biometrics” feature. The company describes the studies as behavioral and self-monitoring research, positioned for consumer wellness rather than clinical use.

The plan, outlined in its latest announcement on Yahoo Finance, represents the next step in the company’s restructuring following last week’s decision to separate its platform into Clinical and Consumer divisions along a regulatory roadmap.

The new modules are described on MDCE’s website as incorporating micro-expression analysis for mood and stress, along with facial, ocular, and dermatological indicators to support preventive wellness monitoring. The company’s published materials frame these as early-warning tools for behavioral or physiological change, rather than as diagnostic software. MDCE has also publicized new data partnerships in dermatology AI and validation efforts using publicly available lesion datasets, as first reported through BioSpace.

The company’s approach fits into a broader pattern of AI developers building separate consumer and clinical pathways while collecting data to support possible future regulatory submissions. If MDCE seeks clinical designation under Software as a Medical Device frameworks, it would need to provide peer-reviewed validation, bias-testing documentation, and post-market monitoring consistent with regulatory standards.

Our explainer on what “clinical-grade” means for biometric health AI outlines the type of evidence and oversight required for such transitions. For now, MDCE continues to present its work as consumer-tier research rather than medical development.

Details on study design, participant demographics, and data governance have not yet been released. Future updates may clarify whether biometric templates will remain device-bound or be stored in centralized environments, and whether the company will preregister research protocols. MDCE maintains public filings through OTC Markets, where investors can track new disclosures related to its AI initiatives and division structure.
