Digital smart lock expert Kaadas has teamed up with luxury car maker Lamborghini for its latest offering; the new Kaadas X Lamborghini smart facial recognition door locks.
The Kaadas X Lamborghini uses 3D structured light technology for what the company says is millimetre-level accuracy when detecting the face of somebody approaching the door for biometric authentication and access.
The facial recognition technology behind the smart lock allows it to extract facial biometric data including bone structure to build an accurate 3D model and offer liveness detection to prevent spoofing via a photograph or video.
Kaadas previously launched a biometric door lock in June of 2020 featuring biometric fingerprint authentication in a partnership with Fingerprint Cards.
These two partnerships show that Kaadas is active in a smart home security market that, according to a report released in 2020 by Transparency Market Research, is predicted to quadruple in the next few years, climbing from $17.8 billion in 2019 to $81 billion in 2027, which translates to an impressive CAGR of approximately 21 percent over that time.
In addition to facial recognition for authentication, the Kaadas X Lamborghini also features four other methods for unlocking a door, including fingerprint biometrics, PIN code, encrypted CPU card, and a mechanical override key.
It also features a 5000mAh lithium-polymer battery, and is available in Singapore in two different colors — gold, and copper — for $1,489, or in a door and gate bundle for $1,829.
