Janam Technologies has expanded the capabilities of its XT4 and GTX rugged mobile computers through a new integration with Wicket’s facial authentication platform. This update enables organizations to implement biometric identity verification for access control at ticketed events, VIP areas, and staff entry points, alongside other credential verification methods.
The integration builds on Wicket’s continued growth in the event access market. Earlier this year, Wicket’s AO Express Entry system at the Australian Open marked the first Australian event to trial facial authentication entry lanes. The company also earned top honors at the 2025 Golfweek Tech Lab for its biometric entry platform.
Multiple Verification Methods in One Device
With the Wicket integration, Janam’s XT4 and GTX devices now combine facial biometric recognition with barcode scanning, QR code reading, and NFC wallet pass verification, including Apple Wallet and Google Smart Tap. This allows venues to use a single mobile computing device for a variety of secure access scenarios, streamlining operations while maximizing the return on existing technology investments.
The system eliminates the need for wired connections, fixed network installations, new logins, or complex setup processes. According to Janam, biometric data is not stored on the devices, supporting a privacy-first approach to access management. The portability of the XT4 and GTX, combined with their rugged design, positions them for use in stadiums, arenas, and other demanding environments.
Deployment Designed for Speed and Privacy
The Janam–Wicket solution is aimed at rapid implementation. Venues can deploy the technology without major infrastructure changes, enabling them to quickly roll out facial authentication systems for both permanent and temporary events. The combination of Wicket’s platform and Janam’s hardware delivers real-time verification at access points, helping reduce wait times and enhance security without compromising user privacy.
“Face biometrics is growing swiftly in acceptance and application. We’re thrilled to now support Wicket’s leading facial authentication platform on our XT4 and GTX rugged mobile computers, enabling secure and efficient access experiences for our customers,” said Harry B. Lerner, CEO of Janam Technologies.
The announcement comes amid broader adoption of biometric verification technologies across industries. In recent months, SmartSearch partnered with Daon to enhance its identity verification capabilities, while Facephi launched its AI-powered biometric identity suite on the AWS Marketplace.
