iVALT has launched DocuID, a mobile-based document access control service that enables users to manage who can view their files and when. The platform uses mobile devices as the primary authentication method and offers real-time access management capabilities, allowing document owners to grant, revoke, or modify permissions on demand.
DocuID is built on iVALT’s core identity verification framework, which incorporates five authentication factors: biometric identification via mobile devices, device registration, GPS-based geofencing, time-based access controls, and dynamic user context. This five-factor authentication (5FA) model represents a departure from conventional two-factor authentication methods and supports a Zero Trust security architecture focused on continuous verification.
The system is designed to address challenges associated with remote work and cloud-based collaboration, where traditional document security controls often fail to prevent unauthorized sharing or access. iVALT’s mobile-first approach reflects a broader industry trend toward decentralized, user-driven verification systems. The company emphasizes that users must explicitly consent to data access, with the option to revoke that consent at any time.
DocuID builds on iVALT’s patent-backed authentication framework, which underpins use cases beyond document security. The same platform has been adapted for access control in IoT environments, caller identity verification to prevent fraud, and secure login for industrial systems. iVALT currently holds six patents related to identity verification, with additional filings pending.
The solution has been integrated into platforms such as P3iD’s ScanBot, supporting secure document capture and automated workflow authentication. iVALT reports that its technology can be added to enterprise systems with minimal configuration—often through a software redirect and app-based deployment—making it compatible with organizations seeking to improve security without major infrastructure changes.
While the initial launch of DocuID focuses on protecting sensitive documents, its capabilities are intended to support broader identity and access management needs across sectors such as finance, healthcare, logistics, and cloud-based service delivery.
