Invixium Names Shreyans Vasa Director of Sales for India and SAARC

Biometric access control company Invixium has appointed Shreyans Vasa as director of sales for India and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) region. Vasa will lead the company’s sales growth there, with responsibility for channel and customer relationships and for expanding its presence across key vertical markets.

SAARC’s members are Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. With the appointment, Invixium is focusing on critical infrastructure and industrial customers in the region, including refineries, airports, data centers, construction, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing, while extending its reach into Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities in India.

Airport staff access is one area where requirements are changing. India’s Bureau of Civil Aviation Security plans to require facial recognition for airport and airline employees, linking it to a digital entry-pass system for workers who currently receive about 1.5 million physical passes each year.

Vasa has more than 16 years of experience in the security industry. His previous roles include positions at CAVITAK, Suprema and Honeywell, and his background covers biometrics, access control, physical security, fire and safety, and emerging technologies.

“We have ambitious plans for India and the broader SAARC region,” said Shiraz Kapadia, CEO and president of Invixium. “We see a substantial opportunity for Invixium, and Shreyans brings proven industry experience, deep market knowledge, and the commercial drive to help us capitalize on it.”

“The India and SAARC security markets are at an exciting point, with organizations demanding more sophisticated and integrated technologies to secure increasingly complex operations,” Vasa said. “What excites me most about Invixium is that the company truly understands the challenges customers face on the ground.”

The company has been widening its distribution and integration network. In July, it integrated its biometric readers with Inner Range’s Integriti platform, adding fingerprint, face and finger-vein enrollment to that access control software. In August, it named Zillion Solutions as a distributor in Qatar for its lower-cost Enterprise Series devices, including the IXM ROSTO and IXM TOUCH 3, aimed at offices, schools, clinics and retailers.

Toronto-based Invixium designs and manufactures biometric devices for access control, workforce management and visitor management, along with real-time location system (RTLS) products for worker safety and tracking. It has an office in Ahmedabad, India.
