Invixium is expanding its portfolio with the release of its new IXM Mobile solution. The app is fully compatible with the IXM TITAN and IXM WEB access control platforms, and is available for Android and iOS devices.
Like Invixium’s other offerings, IXM Mobile is designed primarily for corporate access control. Employees and visitors can use the app to register their facial biometrics remotely, which negates the need for an on-site enrollment process. Each user’s template will instead be sent directly to the IXM WEB management platform, and administrators can use the platform to set access privileges for each person registered in the system.
The app can also be used to store a secure mobile credential that can take the form of a digital card or a QR code. In either case, the holder can use their phone to present their credential at a TITAN reader when they arrive at work, enabling multi-factor authentication when that credential is paired with a facial recognition scan. The digital credentialing system is completely contactless, and relies on Bluetooth technology.
Other IXM Mobile features include an intake questionnaire and a full health screening system. The questionnaire can be filled out remotely, and can be customized based on the needs of the organization. For example, businesses could ask if someone has been vaccinated for COVID-19, or if they have been showing any symptoms of the disease.
The health screening system takes that one step further, and uses the smartphone’s camera to check the user’s vital signs. The system can track heart rate, oxygen saturation, respiration rate, stress level, and heart rate variability, and determine whether or not the individual may be infected based on the results.
Both the questionnaire and the health scan will generate a QR code once they have been completed, giving businesses an easy way to grant or deny entry based on the results. Those who do not fill out their questionnaire in advance can complete it onsite through speech recognition at a TITAN terminal. The results are kept on file in the IXM Health Standard platform, which offers additional temperature and mask detection capabilities.
IXM Mobile was developed in response to COVID-19 to help ensure safer workplaces. The app can be downloaded for free, though businesses will still need to license the technology to take advantage of it in the actual workplace.
