Intellicheck and Dock Optimizer Add Driver ID Checks to Freight Pickups

Intellicheck has partnered with Conmitto, the company behind the Dock Optimizer logistics platform, to add identity checks on truck drivers before freight leaves the dock, aiming to stop fraudulent pickups by people posing as legitimate carriers.

The integration places Intellicheck’s verification inside Dock Optimizer’s appointment scheduling, carrier coordination and driver check-in software, keeping verification results tied to the carrier, driver and load. Intellicheck, which this month added ID checks to Agility Credit’s dealership credit process, analyzes hidden security data in the barcodes of DMV-issued identity documents to determine whether a license is genuine.

During self check-in, Dock Optimizer displays a QR code that the driver scans with a phone before scanning the barcode on the back of their license. Intellicheck verifies the ID, and the result and license details are saved to the appointment. No app download is required, and the companies say verification is completed nearly instantly. The integration also supports checks at the gate and in Dock Optimizer’s Door Manager.

Shippers can apply their own ID requirements to appointments at third-party facilities that use Dock Optimizer, with verification running on the shipper’s own Intellicheck account. Results, license details and timestamps stay on the appointment record for three years to support chain-of-custody documentation, security investigations and compliance reviews.

“The paperwork for a pickup can look right even when the person collecting the freight is not who they claim to be,” said Bryan Lewis, CEO of Intellicheck. “Our partnership with Dock Optimizer brings identity verification to the critical exchange point where freight is handed off, without requiring a separate process for the dock team.”

Akash Agarwal, CEO of Conmitto, said a fictitious pickup “looks like any other pickup until the freight is gone.” He added: “Shippers set the standard for their freight, and now that standard follows the load to every partner dock that runs Dock Optimizer.”

Dock Optimizer launched in 2022 and is used by logistics providers, shippers and carriers including Hanzo Logistics, Kuehne+Nagel, J.B. Hunt, Phinia, Pfizer and Orgain. Conmitto is based in Cupertino, California. Intellicheck says it processes identity transactions for almost half the adult population of the United States and Canada each year.
