PT International Biometrics Indonesia, known as InterBio, has secured a renewed technical support contract for Indonesia’s National ID system for 2026, according to a recent announcement from its parent company TOTM Technologies Limited. The award also includes the issuance of additional Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) licenses, continuing InterBio’s long-running involvement in Indonesia’s population identity infrastructure.
The customer for the contract is the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration, or Dukcapil, under Indonesia’s Ministry of Home Affairs. The agreement is structured as a consortium arrangement between InterBio and PT Indonesia Comnets Plus, with IconPlus acting as InterBio’s reseller for the additional ABIS licenses referenced in the announcement.
The contract covers a 12-month period in 2026 and includes ongoing system maintenance, operational support, and technical services for the National ID system, alongside the expanded ABIS licensing. InterBio states that it has been awarded the annual technical support contract consistently since the project’s inception in 2017, positioning the renewal as a continuation rather than a competitive rebid or system replacement.
The attributable value of the combined technical support and ABIS license work is reported at approximately IDR 79.1 billion, equivalent to around S$6.1 million. While the announcement does not provide granular detail on system performance or scope changes, it frames the renewal as evidence of continued trust in InterBio’s role maintaining what it describes as a foundational national digital identity system.
The release includes commentary from InterBio executive director Pierre Prunier, who emphasizes the importance of system reliability and continuity for national-scale identity infrastructure. Such contracts typically play a critical role in sustaining enrollment, deduplication, and authentication operations, even when no major new feature rollouts are announced.
The same announcement also references a separate maritime cloud platform contract in Indonesia, which is outside the digital identity scope but highlights the company’s broader footprint in national digital infrastructure projects. For ID Tech readers, the National ID support renewal underscores the ongoing operational and commercial significance of long-term biometrics maintenance contracts in large population identity programs.
