The customer, which provides services to over 500 banks, governments, and corporations worldwide, ordered the cards for deployment in one of the region’s fastest-growing payment markets. This follows IDEX’s recent expansion of its biometric payment solutions, including Mastercard certification for its technology through partner KONA I and the launch of Japan’s first biometric payment cards.
Catharina Eklof, Chief Executive Officer at IDEX Biometrics, noted the increasing pace of innovation among card manufacturing partners, with certifications enabling progress toward industrialized production and commercialization of biometric smart cards.
The order represents a key milestone for IDEX Biometrics in the MEA region, where the company has established its presence through several initiatives, including a recent $1 million order for enterprise access control solutions.
