IDEMIA Public Security’s Identity Proofing and Verification Solution has met every performance threshold set by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for Presentation Attack Detection in the latest Remote Identity Validation Rally, while also ranking first among evaluated systems for selfie-to-document matching accuracy. The company was the only participant to achieve full compliance with DHS requirements across the PAD track.
The RIVR is an independent evaluation conducted by the DHS Science and Technology Directorate to assess commercial remote identity verification systems against real-world operational standards. The rally tests three core capabilities: authenticating identity documents, detecting spoofing attempts in selfie captures, and verifying that a live selfie matches a photo on a government-issued ID document.
In the selfie matching track, IDEMIA ranked first in accuracy across all evaluated providers. In the Presentation Attack Detection track, it was the sole provider to satisfy all DHS performance thresholds, a result the company says confirms it can block sophisticated spoofing attempts without introducing undue friction for legitimate users.
“Ranking first in selfie-to-document matching accuracy, achieving top-tier document authentication, and being the only solution to meet all presentation attack detection thresholds together demonstrate that IPS delivers the most complete and reliable remote identity solution on the market,” said Vincent Bouatou, Chief Technology Officer at IDEMIA Public Security.
IDEMIA Public Security serves approximately 600 government, state, and federal agencies globally. The company, a division of IDEMIA Group, has built a sustained record in government biometric benchmarks, having topped a prior DHS liveness detection evaluation in the RIVTD Track 3 assessment. The latest RIVR results come after DHS published findings from the RIVR Identity Document Validation track that documented significant gaps in ID document validation across commercial systems, with most evaluated providers falling short of agency thresholds.
Remote identity verification has become critical infrastructure for law enforcement onboarding, digital identity enrollment, travel and transportation security screening, and remote account opening in financial services. Performance failures in these settings translate directly into fraud exposure, enrollment friction, and service disruption, making government benchmark results a practical signal for agencies evaluating procurement options. The prior RIVR selfie-to-document matching round found only a subset of the 16 submitted systems met DHS biometric matching effectiveness goals, illustrating the competitive difficulty of clearing all three RIVR performance areas simultaneously.
IDEMIA Public Security is headquartered in Courbevoie, France, and operates as one of two market-facing divisions of IDEMIA Group, which employs more than 12,500 people worldwide.
